Temporary Capacity Support Program
Program Vision
Vital mental health services for Indigenous peoples can be disrupted during transition and staff turnover. The Noojimo Health Temporary Capacity Support Program exists to bridge these gaps. We ensure that community members continue to receive seamless, high-quality, and culturally grounded mental health support, even when a permanent counselling or social work role is vacant.
Program Description
This program leverages the significant bench strength of Noojimo Health's extensive roster of qualified Indigenous mental health counsellors and practitioners. We partner with Indigenous-led organizations, First Nations communities, health centres, hospitals, and other service providers to offer their clients direct, immediate, and virtual access to our entire roster of clinicians.
Instead of assigning a single practitioner to your organization, we empower your clients to choose a provider who they feel is the best fit for their personal wellness journey. This support is designed as a temporary bridge, concluding with a smooth transition once your organization successfully fills its permanent position.
Key Features & Benefits
Client Choice and Empowerment: Our program is built on the principle of self-determination. Clients are not assigned a counsellor; they can review our diverse roster of professionals and select someone who resonates with their identity, experiences, and wellness goals.
Continuity of Care: Our program eliminates service gaps and waitlists. It provides immediate access, allowing individuals to receive support without delay and maintain their wellness momentum.
Culturally & Contextually Appropriate Support: Our providers are First Nations, Inuit, and Métis professionals who bring invaluable lived experience and cultural knowledge to their practice. Client choice ensures an even stronger therapeutic and cultural match.
A Diverse Roster of Professionals: Give your clients access to a wide range of qualified and vetted professionals with varied specializations, from addictions counselling to trauma-informed care and traditional healing approaches.
Reduces Administrative Burden: Focus your energy on recruiting the right permanent candidate for your community while we provide a secure, confidential platform for your clients to access care.
How It Works: A Simple Process
Your organization contacts Noojimo Health. We establish a service agreement to provide your clients access to our program for the duration of your staffing gap.
You direct clients seeking support to the Noojimo Health platform. Here, they can confidentially browse the profiles of all available counsellors, viewing their specializations, cultural backgrounds, and approaches to care.
The client initiates contact and books a virtual session directly with their chosen provider, ensuring a strong therapeutic alliance from the very beginning.
Once your permanent role is filled, we facilitate a warm hand-off for active clients, ensuring a smooth and respectful transition of care to your new staff member.
